My Natural High - An Essay
"My Natural High is football and art. My main one would be football because that’s what inspires me everyday. I got involved in this when I was around 12 yrs old. I noticed it during one single play I ran, that was a touchdown. I was very surprised what I did which made me think that I could do it again.
When I am in my Natural High, I feel very powerful and strong. When I run a play and the coaches start screaming, I am motivated to do better and be able to keep on doing what I have accomplished. My support would be my dad. On a regular basis when I was young, he asked me if I wanted to play a sport. My answer was always “no” so he didn’t believe that I ever wanted to be athletic. One day at Monrovia, it was football season, and it was my chance to do something I wanted to try. So I asked my dad to get me signed up. He did, and when I stepped on that field I had accomplished something.
Some of my challenges were just to go out and try what I want to do. I was a regular boy who sat in the house all day everyday, so I began going outside trying all different kinds of sports; basketball, football, baseball, and more. I overcome these challenges by just getting active and going outside to do outdoor activities. That’s all I have to do.
One person who inspired me is Vince Young when I saw him at a Tennessee Titans game. When I see him around it makes me feel enthusiastic. It makes me want to practice all different techniques. If I was abusing drugs, I wouldn’t be me right now. I hung out with the wrong kids before, and now I feel that I can’t hang with them anymore. I would be dead right now over drugs. My family as well as my inner motivation inspired me to be successful in life, not a failure."
